Friends Village

Winter often invites us to pause. Snowfall softens the world outside, creating space to reflect on what brings comfort and meaning to our days. For many older adults and their families, this quieter season becomes a time to consider the next chapter — not as an ending, but as a thoughtful transition toward greater ease, connection, and possibility. Choosing a senior living community is rarely just about logistics; it’s about finding a place where life feels vibrant, purposeful, and supported.

At Friends Village, the rhythm of daily life blends independence with community. Residents often share that what they value most is freedom from everyday burdens — home maintenance, winter worries, and isolation — replaced by opportunities for learning, creativity, and genuine relationships. Even in the coldest months, the campus remains alive with conversation, movement, and discovery.

A wonderful way to experience this firsthand is by joining us for our Open House Tour on March 18, from 2 – 4 pm. Visitors can explore the campus, meet residents and staff, and learn about our community-centered approach to senior living.

March also marks the return of Yoga for Seniors, a six-week workshop running Mondays and Thursdays at 2 pm. Senior Planet from AARP continues with classes Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 am –12:15 pm, alongside educational and cultural programs including presentations on Hannah Penn, a crossword puzzle seminar with Michelle Arnot, and a screening of “I’ll Knock a Homer for You,” about Babe Ruth. Friends Village will also host its second gathering of the WHYY initiative Bridging Blocks — a monthly program encouraging thoughtful dialogue among neighbors, with March’s topic focusing on Affordable Housing.

As hints of spring begin to emerge, new programs reflect a sense of renewal: lectures on Alice Paul and John Woolman will be offered, as well as a six-week dance class offering joyful movement and social connection.

Ultimately, life at Friends Village is shaped by shared moments: quiet conversations, lifelong learning, and friendships that grow naturally over time. It’s a place where each season brings new opportunities to live fully, supported by a community that values connection and purpose every day.
