Free Library of Northampton Township: Where knowledge and fun begin

Free Library of Northampton Township’s diverse adult programming addresses the five literacies needed to thrive:  Basic, Civic & Social, Financial, Health, and Information are the literacies the Pennsylvania Library Association finds integral to empowering citizens.  Through this programming our library has maintained the state’s PA Forward Gold Star status since 2017.  

Please attend the PA Forward programs the library has scheduled in the coming months.

Genealogy Series: 

  • Thursday, February 26 at 6 pm.  Want to write your own family’s history?  Join this genealogy class, “My Family’s Book” and learn how to begin this enriching journey.
  • Tuesday, March 17 at 1 pm.  “Tracing Our Roots:  Getting Started in Jewish Genealogy.”
  • Thursday, April 23 at 6 pm.  Learn how to find family history in this “Military Records” presentation.

Financial Series:

  • “Financial Fitness: Social Security” presented by Scott McCrea of Edward Jones.  Learn what Social Security entails on Monday, March 9 at 6 pm.
  • “Financial Fitness: Retirement” presented by Scott McCrea of Edward Jones on Monday, April 6 at 6 pm.

Health Series:

  • “Cancer Awareness: Women’s Health” presented by Katerina Kotsada of Fox Chase Cancer Center on Monday, March 23 at 6 pm.
  • “Cancer Awareness: Men’s Health” presented by Katerina Kotsada of Fox Chase Cancer Center on Monday, April 27 at 6 pm. 

America250PA Series: Dig into the history of PA during this celebratory year of our nation.

  • Monday, March 30 at 6 pm learn about “Slavery, Friends & Freedom in Bucks County” with Pat Mervine.  
  • Saturday, April 18 at 1 pm. What was the Fries Rebellion in PA?  Explore “Fries Rebellion Film” presented by Lower Macungie Township Historical Society.  
  • Also enjoy Friends Second Saturday program“Celtic Heritage” presented by Mary Roth Saturday, March 14 at 1 pm.
