Bucks Live! Brings world-class entertainment this fall

Posted

Bucks County Community College proudly presents Bucks Live!, a series of innovative programs that entertain, inspire, and enrich Bucks County’s cultural landscape. Take in world-class live music, dance, and theatrical performances close to home and at an affordable price.

The fall season includes “Real Diamond,” a tribute to Neil Diamond, at 7:30 pm, Saturday, October 11. Curt Di Domizio fronts the band with a chillingly realistic Neil Diamond interpretation, including hits like “Kentucky Woman,” “Cracklin' Rosie,” “Sweet Caroline,” and more.

Next, celebrate the spooky season with “Transylvania Thunder” at 7:30 pm, Saturday, October 25. This full-scale musical event combines live rock music, theatrical storytelling, dancers, lighting, narration, and a storyline that unfolds like a Halloween-themed rock opera.

Hollywood horror movie classics take center stage with “Monster Rally” October 28, 29, and 30. At 7 pm, Tuesday, October 28, take in “Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein” and “Frankenstein Meets Wolfman.”  Another creature double feature follows at 7 pm, Wednesday, October 29, with “House of Dracula” and “House of Frankenstein.” Finally, the series concludes with a matinee at 12:30 pm, Thursday, October 30, with “House on Haunted Hill.”

On Saturday, November 8, the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society presents Montreal-born guitarist Adam Cicchillitti. Classical Guitar magazine called him “a virtuoso at the top of his game” and CBC music described him as an “ardent ambassador for classical guitar,” including him on their list of the top 30 musicians in Canada under 30 years old. The show gets underway at 3 pm.

All performances take place in the Zlock Performing Arts Center on the Newtown Campus at 275 Swamp Rd. in Newtown, where there is ample free parking. Learn more and purchase tickets at bucks.edu/tickets.
